Youth Booths

The Wellington Farmers Market is proud to promote money management and entrepreneurship through our Youth Booth program.

Who can have a Youth Booth?
  • Youth Booths are open to anyone 18 years old and under.  Youth may work alone or with partners to run their booth (partners encouraged!). Specific groups (ie. Scouts, sports team, etc.) may be represented by a designated Market Youth Booth at the Market Manager’s discretion as space allows.

What can I sell in a Youth Booth?
  • To qualify as a Youth Market Vendor for the WFM, products must be made or produced by the vendor or a cooperating partner.  Only produce, flowers, plants, hand-made non-food items, or Cottage Foods Vendors will be allowed in Market Youth Booths.  This means you can sell your garden produce, cut flowers, plants, chocolate chip cookies, cupcakes, hand-made jewelry, carved wood, etc.  but you cannot sell food items made with meat, dairy products and several other things.
  • Check out our Cottage Foods tab to learn more about what kind of foods are allowed for Cottage Foods Vendors if you're interested in selling food.  If you sell food, you will also need to complete a Safe Food Handling class just like the adult Cottage Foods Vendors.

What does a Youth Booth look like?
  • Market Youth Booths consist of a free 10’x12’ booth space and may be shared between Market Youth Booths depending on product space needs.
  • Adult supervision is not required, but recommended for Market Youth Booths.
  • You will need to provide your own table, chairs, items to sell, change & cash box, etc. but can design your booth however you would like.  All we ask is that you don't poke holes in the ground and clean up your space to leave it as if you were never there at the end of the Market Day.
  • Youth Booths don't have to come every week!  You choose how many Market Days you want to participate in and we'll make sure there's a spot for you.
What does it cost to be a Youth Booth vendor?
  • There is a one-time $5 fee for Youth Booths.  This covers the cost of the Youth Booth Kit and other materials/time provided by the Market Manager to help you have  a successful Youth Booth.
How do I sign up?
  • Simply fill out the Youth Booth Application to the right to get this party started!  While you're waiting to hear back on approval (within 10 days), take a look at our Market Rules page to get an idea of what's expected of our regular vendors.  Generally speaking, these are the same rules for Youth Booths, too!
